"...for anyone thinking of signing up for this race….you may very well never find such high quality of organization, including the volunteers and the exchanges, at any race in the world." Drew Roberts for the Run Oregon website on The Elkhorn Relay
Our first foray into trail racing, we feel confident in saying that is a truly special race. With so much local support and beautiful scenery, we are excited to present the opportunity to explore the area not far from Brian Head and Zion National Park. The beautiful red and grey mountains just outside of Cedar City, Utah will inspire you while you suffer up the steep climbs. We currently have a 50mile, 50k, 25k and 15k option. Sadly, this race is on hold for the 2021 year. We are hoping it might still happen.
This 106 mile race starts at Hilgard State Park just a few miles outside La Grande in Eastern Oregon and goes up through the Elkhorn Wilderness up near the summit at Anthony Lakes Ski Resort. Beautiful vistas combine with colossal climbs to make this 1 - 6 person relay something you'll never forget.
Even though this a relatively young relay (circa 2015), it is quickly gaining a reputation that rivals the famous Hood to Coast Relay because of it's amazing volunteers and aid stations, epic scenery, and relaxed and uncrowded feel.
This is an all new race with all new racing rules and style. Come check out beautiful Eastern Oregon on the wonderful MERA trail system just outside of La Grande Oregon. You can choose to run with us for 2, 6 or 12 hours, most points win. Visit the MERA Mayhem page to learn more about this innovative race that even offers prizes!!
