"The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
WHO
WE
ARE
We are a group of active people who love being outside and helping people. Our experiences range from Ironman races, Ultra Marathons, relay races, Spartan Races, Century rides (cycling), backpacking, 5k's, and walking our dogs.
Another huge part of our experience has been participating in trips to other countries to help with humanitarian needs. The countries we've served in has mainly been limited to Mexico, Uganda, and South Sudan. The people we've met have inspired us and broken our hearts simultaneously. We have held babies dying of dehydration and played with children who bathed and put on their best clothes to come meet us. The only water available for them to bathe in was the nearby sewer pond. So many lives ruined by completely solvable problems! None of us are rich (by American standards), but we have found that doesn't have to prevent us from being generous humans.

During our time in the running community, we have met so many kindred spirits! Generous souls who love to help out whenever possible. So we have combined our two passions into something that gets us out of bed in the morning. With the money we earn, we are able to make donations to organizations around the world that are doing things we wish we could do. But now we can and so can you! By participating in a Doomsday Racing event, you are contributing to buying medication for HIV positive orphans in India, food for kids starving to death in war-torn South Sudan, and hopefully much more in the years to come.

BLOG:
As we continue to have adventures in running and caring, we will do our best to share them with you on our blog site. A good friend of ours, Amanda Twilegar, has put our words and experiences in a more comprehensive story than we ever could. So go on over and be transported to Uganda and South Sudan. Find out a little more about whose lives you are changing when you run with Doomsday Racing.

This year we donated to FRM's feeding program in South Sudan and Send Hope Now.
SHN has a fund set up specifically for providing supplies to families suffering from HIV/AIDS. Along with supplies and medication, they are also offered prevention education.

SEND HOPE NOW: HOME OF HOPE
Send Hope Now received our second donation as well. This time we designated it to the work they were doing in an orphanage for HIV positive children. They provide education, medication, mentorship, and much more and we wanted to support them in that!

SEND HOPE NOW
Send Hope Now received our very first donation. At the time, they were funding an orphanage as well as a community for lepers that had been ostracised from their culture.
